The band's debut album, which was named "Eponymous" was released in the year 1973. They got a recording contract in the year 1972. The album was then followed by Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic and Rocks. This earned Aerosmith international fame and recognition. These albums are the origin of legendary hits , including "Dream on", Walk This Way as well as "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's five first albums all had multi-platinum status. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. As the decade progressed however, the group's life of constant performing, recording and living together started to wear their bodies. Due to their use of heroin and stimulants, Tyler and Perry were sometimes referred to as the Toxic Twins. Aerosmith Behind the Music has several videos that illustrate their bond. Tyler was more committed to Aerosmith and appeared to be averse to Perry's passive approach. Perry, however, loved Tyler's love for the women she dated. The gradual decline of Aerosmith was most likely due to the tension between Tyler and Perry and their once-friendly friends.
