Morgan Smith

He graduated from Columbia College at Columbia University and Mannes College of Music in New York City, Morgan made his debut as an Seattle Opera young artist (1999-2000) and, in 2001, made his professional debut as Donald as Billy Budd. Smith is a Seattle favourite, has appeared in over 12 productions including Don Giovanni in the title character, Silvio and I Pagliacci in I Pagliacci as well Riccardo from I Puritani. He also appeared as Peter Niles, in Mourning Becomes an Electra. Regular at the concert stage, Mr. Smith made his Dallas Symphony debut with Bach's St. Matthew Passion, and debuted in The San Antonio Symphony for the North American premiere of Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange, Detlef Glanert's orchestral interpretation of the well-loved work by Brahms. Other concert repertoire includes Beethoven's Ninth Symphony; the Requiems composed by Brahms, Faure, Mozart Durufle, and Faure; the Mass that is in C Minor in C Minor of Mozart and Mass in G Minor of Vaughan Williams; Bach's B Minor Mass, numerous Cantatas as well as Weihnachts Oratorium; Handel's Messiah and L'Allegro in the form of Penseroso and il Moderato and Haydn's The Creation and Lord Nelson Mass.
